Massage and the benefits in a detoxification
program
Many have realized that massage has both a
physiological effect and a psychological effect, and are now realizing the important health benefits of
massage therapy. Massage therapy is not just for relaxation; it can also aid your body in detoxifying.
Detoxification massage helps your body get rid of dietary toxins.
Massage, be it lymph drainage, Swedish body
massage, sports or deep tissue massage, greatly support any cleansing program you are in. Massage is based on
movement. The therapist employs a series of rhythmic movements that stimulates the response of the
body. The massage
movements include regular and irregular and deep and light applications of pressure, that gently compress and
stretch your muscle and connective tissues.
With the series of strokes, massage aids the
lymphatic system to clear toxins and other unwanted substances. These body toxins are by-products of stress,
dead cells, heavy metals and other excess debris from your cells.
Massage can enhance the immune system, strengthen
the muscles and strengthen the connective tissue. The massage therapy session can remove blockages of the
circulatory system. It has a gradual skin shedding effect that helps the body to regenerate new skin
cells. It improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and it aids in body awareness.
Additionally, massage can also help prevent health conditions including muscle fatigue, headaches,
fibromyalgia, and other system dysfunctions that result from the presence of toxins in the
body.
Some clients believe that massage therapy can helps
maintain a mental sharpness and a feeling of wellbeing and euphoria is experienced. It is known that a
relaxed body detoxifies better then a body in a tense state.
For optimal results I recommend a full body massage
for detoxification once a week for one month and thereafter at least once a month for maintenance, provided
that there are no contra indications. Otherwise permission will be required by a medical practitioner, and
massage will be done in the practitioners frame work.
